The Mayor's Ball for the Arts is the Riverside Arts Council’s premiere fundraising event. Called “The Best Party in Riverside,” the Ball annually attracts over 1,000 artists, arts organizations and leaders from throughout the business and civic community to Downtown Riverside’s Historic White Park for a party the likes of which this area has never known. But the Mayor's Ball is more than just a party. The money raised from this one night helps to fund the Community Arts Partnership (CAP) grant, providing support to community-based performing and visual arts projects serving more than 50,000 individuals of all ages. The impact of the CAP program is felt in schools, health and human service agencies, parks and public facilities throughout Riverside County. This year the best party in Riverside has gotten better. Featuring re-creations of four classic nightclubs...Cotton Club (Harlem, 1920s-30s), Rainbow Room (New York, 1940s), Sands (home of the Rat Pack; Las Vegas, 1950s) and Studio 54 (the ultimate disco experience of the 70s). Reminiscent of the popular Overture events, heavy hors d'oeuvres will be provided by Mario's Place, Olio's Italian Ristorante. A full no-host bar is provided by The Menagerie. Live music featuring Katherine Prouse and Them Novus, as well as DJ Marc to close out the last part of the evening.
